Stripe Play: Lacey Dress

  • Lacey Dress on me

  • Getting ready to start!

Hello, my friends! I hope you are well. Today, I want to share my latest dress I made. It’s Lacey Dress from StyleArc.
They are an Aussie-based company and I got the pattern from their website in PDF. If you prefer paper patterns, you can purchase from Amazon.

This is my first make of their pattern. I have been collecting their patterns. I don’t know why I waited this long. Lol
I am so happy that I finally started.

My eyes are drawn to the directions of stripes of this dress that I had to get it.

To be honest, this type of loose fit dress isn’t my kind of dress, but I decided to take my risk. I just LOVED this stripe-play of this dress so much!!
I am so glad I tried because I started liking this loose fit. It’s totally perfect for a hot summer! I have plenty of fabric left, so I made belt so that I have an option.

Pattern:
Lacy dress from Style Arc

Pattern Description: Easy slip-on dress with an extended shoulder, square line bodice, and slightly gathered skirt.

Sizing: 4-30 (I cut size 8)

Difficulty: 2

Fabric Used: ITY knit from Fabric Mart

Does it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope? Yes

Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, I like how they color which seams to sew together, but letters are small for me

Did I make in alterations? Shorten 1” from the front, back, sleeves and 3 1/4” from the skirt

Made pockets deeper, but they are still small for my hands.

instead of two-row of basting stitch and gathering methods on instructions, I used an elastic method that I learned with making my Moneta dress.

Sew Abigail has a great tutorial for it.

Would I sew it again? If I find the perfect fabric for this pattern, yes! Probably with woven next time

Would I recommend it to others?  Yes!
